About Us

A Crane Project began as an inspiration of Lloyd Cook and Cindy Goldsmith who found a new look at the world through digital photography, photo manipulation, digital motion and the addition of sounds and music. It found it's beginnings when they spotted a huge white bird, which they could not identify, and chased "her" around in their attempt at capturing a detailed digital image of this bird for further research. They labeled her a "crane", but later found out that she most definitely was an egret. In their hearts, though, they prefer to think of her as the beautiful white crane that kept their imaginations soaring and ate up gigabytes of space on their computer with the thousands of digital photos they took of her.

Note from the Authors

The egret enhanced our knowledge of her habits (not unlike those of her local human counterparts) and the other wildlife found on Lake Michigan, as well as the intricacies of photography. We'd like to share our experiences of the midwest culture and wildlife, both the technical aspects and the artistic impressions which are featured in our galleries. We also invite you to share in the Crane Project with your thoughts, ideas and/or submissions in the growth of the Midwest Culture pages.

Please enjoy the site and visit our guest book. We look forward to sharing your thoughts and experiences and hope to add a seed of insight to your wanderings.
